Ian and Miranda came to my house for their bridal consult not too long after I lost my brother and nephew in January 2019. We talked about loss, Ian’s dad and Miranda’s mom, and honestly we just clicked. They have a special kind of love where they just get each other and both value each other so much, it’s very evident, even from that first meeting. 

Their wedding ceremony and reception was at Trout Lake in Stroudsburg. Their wedding was textbook definition of a rainy day wedding. But I can promise you we didn’t let that get us down. When the decision was made to move the ceremony inside, they decorated the room so beautifully I was blown away. Flowers and candles lined the aisles. It looked like a fairytale. 

When it came time to do their portraits, the rain halted and we walked the property and got all of our shots! As we made our way back inside for intros, the rain picked up again! We ended up getting all of the photos we wanted and then some… without umbrellas! 

Without a doubt, their parent dances were the most difficult thing I had to do last year as far as work was concerned. I tucked myself behind the sweetheart table and sobbed as I watched them dance with their parents. The emotion was real from everyone in the room. They watched slideshows that were prepared by Ian’s sister. And I honestly get choked up thinking about it, months later. 

Loss makes you realize how important every day we’re gifted here on Earth is. Unfortunately, these two understand that and they embraced all the pictures we took and never complained once! 

To the MacLeods, I wish you nothing but happiness and love for the rest of your years together. Can’t wait to see you guys again!
