High School Senior Portraits are the perfect way to commemorate your (or your childs’) big accomplishment of graduating high school. I’ve been a Lehigh Valley senior photographer for many years and have photographed some awesome locations that highlight your senior’s unique personality. Below are some “need to knows” about senior photos in the Lehigh Valley.

When Should I Do My Senior Pictures?

The honest answer is anytime you want, as long as it’s before you graduate. Most of my senior clients get their senior portraits captured in the summer before 12th grade. Tans are golden, late summer gives that golden sunshine look and everyone is gearing up for the start of the new school year.

Fall is a great time to have your senior portraits as well. Many like to wait until the weather cools down, it’s easy to throw on a sweater and jeans without them sticking to you and because our area gets some good fall colors, you get some pretty leaves in the background to give your photos some life!

If you hate the heat, senior photos in the winter could be really awesome for you! A cute hat, boots, jeans and a sweater… that sounds awesome!

Occasionally I have people wait until the spring of senior year to have their session and that’s also fine… just be prepared for postponements due to weather or spring blooms being completely unpredictable!

What Should I Wear for my Senior Pictures?

This is a fun question. As you can see from the examples below, my seniors love to show off their personality with their clothes and props. Bring options. Simple is best, though. Classic and timeless is always the way to go. A simple pattern or soft floral dress. A button down top. Jeans or khakis.

Bring a change of clothes for the second part of the photoshoot where we make it a little more casual. This is where I like to incorporate something that is special or unique to the graduate or change up their hairstyle to give a totally different look to the photos!

Do you have the black wrap they photograph senior girls in?

I do not own the black wrap but I know they sell them on Amazon fairly cheap.

Do I Need To Bring My Own Cap and Gown?

Yes, if I kept every color of the rainbow when it comes to school colors, I would never be able to keep them in order! I have black but we would want to use your school colors and get a tassle with your graduation year on it!

Should I Bring Props To My Senior Photo Session?

YES! I love capturing musical instruments, sports gear, pets, medals and jerseys! If your team isn’t in season, ask ahead of time and your coach or teacher can probably help you get one for the shoot!

What Are Good Locations To Do My Senior Portraits in the Lehigh Valley?
