Josh and Courtnie’s wedding was one I was looking forward to for years. Literally, from even before I knew them. 

As many people already know, Josh’s parents have been at so many weddings I’ve photographed. I’ve told this story so many times so I’m sorry if you’ve already heard it. One time, Gary, Josh’s dad, asked to take a picture with me at the fifth wedding we were at in one year and he sent it to me, so I saved his name in my phone as Gary the Professional Wedding Guest. He said to me, “when it comes time for my son to get married, you will be our first phone call!” I laughed it off and said that “I BETTER BE!” Anyway, two years after he sent me this picture…

…I got a voicemail on my phone and it was none other than Mr. Professional Wedding Guest himself telling me his son Josh got engaged and the date was set and his fingers were crossed that I was available. 

I did a phone consult with Courtnie and Josh and we hit it off right away! I Couldn’t wait for their big day. 

They had their wedding and reception at Folino Estate in Kutztown. We were able to do their first look, formal portraits and all of the bridal party shots before the ceremony when it started to drizzle. Courtnie told Josh to make the decision about moving ceremony inside or keeping it outside. I could see his inner turmoil about it. He said, “One of the reasons we booked it here was for the outside ceremony views!”. So I said, looking at the radar, “Worst case scenario is people get a little wet and they use an umbrella.” I will always advocate for my couples to make sure their day goes as they want it to. So I encouraged him to have it where he wanted and so everyone huddled under umbrellas and we all laughed. When it was all said and done, we were dry inside within 10 minutes. Courtnie said it was easily the best part of her wedding day. She was thrilled we decided to keep it outside. 

DJ Tonez kept the party rockin’ all night and the dance floor was packed!! I couldn’t have picked a more perfect wedding to end 2019 wedding season! I loved every single minute and laughed so much with everyone. I’m so blessed to be doing what I love and celebrating these huge moments with people. It was the perfect day and an amazing wedding season all around. 

Thank you Josh and Courtnie for being so wonderful. I wish you every happiness this life has to offer you. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two! Love you guys. -Lori
