Behind The Camera…

Hi there! I’m Lori Generose, the L and G of LG Photography. I can usually be found with a camera around my neck and a smile on my face, rocking some sweet grass stains on my pants and chasing a toddler or a woman in white (on the weekends). My Sundays are spent enjoying my family and praising God. I believe in paying it forward and spreading a little kindness everywhere I go.

Since I was around 12 years old, I could be found with a camera in my hand. It was my aunt who bought me my first camera.  I went straight to work out of high school, and it never really occurred to me that I could go to college or make a living doing something I loved like taking pictures. I guess it seemed too good to be true, so I never even entertained the idea. When I had my kids, I was reminded how much I loved photography.

I love my job. I think I’m really great at what I do, because I love it so much, and I pour my heart into my work. Since the first photo of my career, I’ve taken more photos than I could ever count. I took classes and continue to learn more through mentorship and online workshops. I will never stop learning, and I’m proud to admit that. I feel if you don’t continue learning in this field, you will grow stagnant.

My goal is to document memories for my clients so that when their memories fade as the days pass by, they can always go back to those photographs and be reminded of that precious moment in time. The excitement of their engagement and the love in their eyes on their wedding day. Their baby’s first gulp of air and what it felt like to hold them for the first time. Those itty bitty fingers and toes. Chubby cheeks, toothless grins, terrible two’s. From piggy back rides to high school seniors and everything in between. I document life as I see it.

The promise I live by in photography is “whatever it takes.” I will do whatever it takes to make your vision come to life, while keeping it authentic to you. I will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and sing at the top of my lungs if it means it’ll make your child (in some cases, teenager) smile. I will not only be your photographer, but I’ll step up to be whatever it is you need me to be on your wedding day, even if it is just your dance partner. What-EVER IT TAKES! That’s my promise.
