90% of my first birthday milestones involve a cake smash. I have always said, I wish a formal “cake smash” was a thing when my kids were babies because I would have done it with both of my children. 

Some kids LOVE it, roll around in it, smush it in their hair, eat the entire cake… and some despise it. They won’t touch it and they cry the whole time. Either way, it makes for good photos. 

Here’s some highlights from my cake smashes so far this year! They are usually photographed around 11 months so there’s time for printing and such before the child’s first birthday party!
